Upholding important values like courtesy, patience, respect, self-control and integrity.
These values and life skills will lead to remarkable improvements in academics, careers, and relationships, literally making a better community one Black Belt at a time.
We are committed to providing quality Martial Arts instruction to each and every student. We place a strong emphasis on discipline and respect, with all our teaching done as if we were working with our own family.
We provide classes for children age 5 and up, Teens and Adults.
Frank Pollara and Art Copple were promoted to Black Belt in “Ed Parkers American Kenpo,” by Senior Grand Master Ed Parker in 1987. They opened Eastgate Kenpo Karate in Springfield, Oregon the same year.
The evolution of this Martial Art System has grown through the teaching of Senior Grandmaster Skip Hancock, a personal student of the late Senior Grandmaster Ed Parker. Mr. Hancock is still guiding and teaching us through “The Path to Excellence.”
Here at Eastgate Kenpo we teach “The Path to Excellence” directed by Senior Instructor and owner Frank Pollara. Following this path as a map to personal mastery, it is a self-defense system that places at its core: Attitude, Logic, Basics & Fitness.
